Our Story
Thirty years on Bardstown Road.
Day's Espresso & Coffee opened in 1994 in this exact location, and it's been the Highlands' living room ever since.
An independent coffee house since 1994
Before the Highlands had a coffee shop on every block, there was Day’s: an independently owned espresso bar that set up at 1420 Bardstown Road in 1994 and never left.
Three decades later, the mission hasn’t changed. Pull good shots, keep the tea wall stocked, greet people by name, and give everyone a comfortable place to land, whether that’s for five minutes or five hours.

Voted best coffee house on Bardstown.

The room
Come as you are. Stay a while.
Couches worn in just right, mismatched tables, local art on the walls, and a shelf of board games waiting for a rainy afternoon. There are outlets where you need them and a patio out front for sunny days, dogs welcome.
Students camp out with laptops, friends meet before heading down Bardstown, and the chess board gets more action than you’d think.
Behind the bar
Classics, plus a few of our own.
The espresso bar runs on beans from Montanos Brothers Roasters, in a classic line of drinks alongside fun creations of our own, like the Spicy Mocha that regulars have sworn by for years.
Not a coffee person? The tea wall is one of the widest selections in town, and the case stays stocked with pastries and snacks.
